2008 was a good year on the bliz...
this is the longest i have every worked on a post. had many a big belly laugh going through the last year of the bliz. a lot of new loyal readrers and a lot of continued love (and content) from some of the old timers. so much love. observe and respect yourselves.
january
first we checked out the ball of the century, then we observed the fail blog, of course we respected the bic pen, i was intrigued by goat culture, then i drank everyone's milkshake, oh and the giants charged through the playoffs and hitler was revealed to be a cowboys fan. what else? we rocked zubaz, let james brown teach us to dance, got fired up for the return of the wire, noodled to the sounds of werewolf bar mitzvah, and reminissed about 2007.
febuary
THE GIANTS WON THE SUPER BOWL! a-game introduced us to larping (LIGHTING BOLT!), i missed buster bluth, we observed and respected jews in sports, the player coach introduced us to hardcore sitting, wayne fonts joined the party and showed us how to smell the glove, the sign man died, spree went broke (still can't believe that one), a very cute beagle won the dog show, miami spice introduced us to a "regular everyday normal guy" (i get nervous in social situations motherf*&$er!), we laughed at science projects, and welcomed g-villian into our society.
march
i went to the track with a-game, laughed at photoshop disasters, creamed myself over hulu, imagined celebrities in ohio, loved nba trash talk from the 80's, earl d. babst laughed at hippies, i tried to hump a sando, we loved anthony lister, discovered american pimp on youtube, looked at cats that look like hitler, reminisced about old rounds of golf (rookery 4 eva!), welcomed mrs. winfield, fell in love with the duke haters all over again, checked out some new work by dave winfield, went to pho bang (bang that shit is good!), watched sound of music with a-game, learned that giant squid sex is violent and confusing, let keith richards blow our minds, thought about getting a tooth tattoo and respected the flat top.
april
we are really rolling now. hank showed us garfield without jon, we respected patrick ewing, we got our purple drank on, checked out some ridic photos that andre found, watched sean avery distract marty, welcomed penrod township to the fold, had a schvitz at the russian baths in the east village, got excited to wife a-game, fell in love with the internet all over again, listened to lee elia rant, congratulated glenn hubbard, loved some hippies, loved some sven deezy, learned how to dance with little birdie and thought about quitting smoking with david sedaris.
may

you still reading this? good. we started may with crazy agro french gang dancing, laughed at bizarro youtube comedies, fell in love with drunken orsen wells (a real fave of mine from last year), watched sue simmons drop an f bomb, lusted for an anteater, let chuck taylors blow our minds with the "semi-retired punker report", then saw his future wifey stick up for the ladies. then we were terrified by the world's most dangerous gangs, we observed japanese robots, went to the state fair, laughed at photos of some guy's tv, took a trip to the sfc with the player/coach, let barry beck teach us about hockey goons and what else? something else happened in may? oh I WIFED A-GAME. it was amazing.
june
i spent the first two weeks of june in turkey, schvitzing and riding a moped, the mets fired willie, millard fillmore gave us mike tyson brunch out, we found the "big picture", kg wasn't finna sleep all week, japanese people got into some oldie porn, i yearned for a bacon suit, fell in love with the sturgeon king, miami spice had his second baby, wifey cried infront of the computer, chuck taylors gave us laughs, the winfields and the babsts both got married, a webcam slut failed miserably, we laughed at the gookie and noodled to some hyphy slaps courtesy of the player coach.
july
a-rod and madonna? hyphy slaps! bears dancing in the woods? wifey watching ducks in a bath? deezy and fredeeky rocked riptide university, we found a bizarro fred, the new yorker caused a stir, operation hot mother was in full swing, we loved the girl talk videos, high life waxed poetic about brett favre, we saw some incredible pics, we fell in love with the portland pickle, miami spice shared some nature with us, we marinated in a youtube explosion, went to a peruvian guniea pig festival, made love to some hot fat crabs, fell in love with my readers, was grossed out by the montauk monster, pudge joined the yanks, and we had a blast at one of the bluth's better parties.
august
how i miss summer. i started watching mad men, looked at pics of ball players smoking ciggies (how i miss the ciggies), wished wifey a happy 8.8.08, went back to riptide university (lotta love to the deezy), gawked at meatscapes and old signs, saw a bride get tased, stayed frosty, and savored some newports (steak not ciggies, i miss ciggies). then i watched a german kid freak out at his video games, checked out sexy people, usa won a lot of gold, miami (and president kennedy) spice previewed the canes, noodled to more jams with the player/coach (who provided a lot of jams this year), and was amazed by the spaghetti cat.
september
this was a great month on the bliz if i do say so myself. college football got going, high life recommended a great book, starbury started to go crazy for reals, big e shared some jams, wanted a full english, david foster wallace killed himself, buster bluth made us laugh, r. kelly got real eloquent, saw duhon playing beer pong, triumph went to the rnc, miami spice blew our speakers with miami bass, yankee and shea stadiums closed, joan halloway was busty and i had the best october fest ever. so much went on right? but there's more. i visited miami spice and the chinaskis, new york magazine had one of their best covers, the brewers made high life happy, paul newman died and night man rocked my world.
october
barry beck broke down the rangers, we read about the new york jew - cats for the ladies! i started trafficking in mackrel, saw some cool album covers from the player/coach, wished i went to the elizabeth peyton show, learned about archie comics while starbury "watched the final presidential debate in the common room of a homeless shelter on the Bowery with a bunch of guys he met at Two Boots pizza". mike leach gave us some good dating advice, i live blogged my flight to portland, where i had big belly laughs with the chinaskis. the giants beat the steelers, cats for the ladies, potvin sucks, halloween, hilarity. finally, big ups to glenn hubbard's wedding.
november
coming down the home stretch. we started it off with custom big rigs, then obama won and i got patriotic for a second, neck face blew my mind (thanks to andre), someone dressed their kid up as the hiphopopatamus and then we all took a deep breth and classed it up a little bit. big e was on the radio, free darko wrote a book, we looked at pee wee football hits, welcomed little d and mrs babst to the fold, remebered the young ones (shouldn't be afraid), admitted to loving mini vans, gazed at monkeys riding dogs, watched some cricket, learned about ufos with nigel, rocked out, loved dave winfield, admired barry beck's hair, the giants kept rolling, the internet blew my mind (again) and we all took a peek at my itunes.
december
i feel like i went on kind of a bender in december. had a lot of jameson on the rocks in these little glasses. fittingly i started the month with some drunken man-love for my loyal readers, old and new snl rocked my world, chuck taylors got me dancing, mac fu rode a scraper bike, nuggets got r&b'd on, someone threw a shoe at bush, wifey watched cats (and hedgehogs) on the internets, we loved some rando jersies, may and the player/coach bet on the emerald bowl - more to come on that one, cat lady scared me, winter arrived, the giants got home-field, marv albert made a corgi sleep and i made pot pies.

Fredeeky-
The most happy of new years to you 'n A-Game. This brought back so many memories; there are tears running down my cheeks and into Pabst tall boy resting on my belly. Thank you for the endless hours of distractions, musings, and jams.
When are we going to see a flickr gallery of all the great fredeeky banners from 2008? Strut your stuff, brother. Until then, we remain....
Your loyal readers,
Hank and Pickles

I am crying like a 4 yo girl at my desk. Quivering as the tears flow dark with mascara down my face. My colleagues are staring in wonder.
Few people get to experience the the joy I do via the 'Deeky. I pity these fools-for they don't know what love is. Thanks for a great year of time wasting. This keystroke is for you.
Once Love,
Corporal Dre

Aah, Fredeeky. The bliz has become like an amazing time capsule! I love the year-end wrap up. Who knew it would make me so nostalgic? Don't tell the rest of the internets, but this will be my main source of news for 2009.

Took a nice long look at this post early this morning. I was floored by the amazing work that Fredeeky puts out there for us. I was also amazed that this recap made the year seem even shorter than it already did.
My resolution in '09 is more commentary, it should be yours as well.
Could we get a New England update once in a while from A-Dubs, Malcom X or Sven Deezy? What about more Mid-Atlantic updates from Jimmy Page. Honestly lets help Deeky out. Oh and I would love to have a womans point of view more often.
Happy New Year

Brilliant work my friend.

Ha - I can't believe I have been loving that French dancing since May! Also re-watched your wedding animated video and loved it again!
Also love the What Wifey is Watching feature.
Thanks, Fredeeks.
