new reader alert! a big welcome to dan pouts (yes pouts). hard to think of famous dans. not like freds. respect the famous freds. me and chuck taylors tried to think of some famous dans the other night. fouts was the coolest we came up with (young fredeeky had a dan fouts jersey). then dan pouts asked for the change from fouts to pouts, which i think was kinda incredible. nice work by him. this is a crazy top five, but i loved it. so hard to find these, though. flying burrito bros. blew my mind a little bit. garnet mimms was a straight up scorcher. al green is solid and i couldn't find the ray charles. amy winehouse sounded kinda good even. not sure i fully support a pandora first five, but i more than fully support a new reader! one other thing i support is a reader that likes to share and dan pouts is dying to share. he also loves top fives. sound magical? it is.

wifey's top five is real low maintenance for me as we share the same jams so there's no hunting for these. this "first five" comes from her ipod so there's less of a chance for stinkers, but i was espescially really into this top five. solid classic rock with zeppelin and the kinks, good crooner, hipster jam and some radiohead as the cherry on top. nice work wifey! this first five was actually witnessed by me in a taxi cab back from the upper east side back home (pictured above in 1936) so i can vouch for it. the next track that came on was "my block", which is a fredeeky fave and is actually where the bliz's motto ("making the impossible look easy") comes from. bonus track! learn yourselves. wifey just likes the piano sample. loving the first fives. thanks for sharing wifey!

big ups to van gundy's civic! that's really one of my all time favorite reader names by the way. interesting collection of jams here. dylan is obviously amazing (listening to that as i type this) and i'm excited to listen to that modest mouse song (which i didn't have previously). since i love long island and melodrama i was really into listening to the downeaster alexa and i liked it a lot more than i thought i would. couldn't find the specific mitch hedberg so i listened to a few routines, which were pretty great. not usually into the standup, but i like that. wingbirds and peace drums kinda blew my mind a little, but that's what sharing is for no? this is fine work by van gundy's civic. much love.

so much love for the yay area here on fredeeky. not only goldberg loves this pic. the player/coach and chuck taylors are also made moist by it. but this is about mighty goldberg and his first five. for the most part these are all songs that were very easy to find on music blogs, since g'berg is so dialed into the scene. i have always had a soft spot for van morrison so that was secret wheelhouse for me. the beatles are obbviously delightful to listen to. the others i have downloaded and will listen to as soon as i stop swaying happily to the van morrison that i am currently rocking out to. we miss you here in new york goldberg. people that are from the yay area like to come to nyc and live for a little while and then go back to living in the yay forever. true or false? first off i need to give a ton of respect to miami spice (a.k.a. mac fu) for hosting wifey and i (and the brother of wifey) at landshark stadium last saturday for an epic canes victory over oklahoma (a.k.a. chokelahoma or oklahomo - you can pick). there were lots of ribs, home made mac and cheese and more coors light than you can fathom. one of the best live sporting events i have ever attended. no sitting allowed at the canes game. we laughed, cried, yelled, chanted and even almost got in a fight with some hillbillies from oklahoma. amazing night. thanks so much mac fu! go canes! jacory harris for prez! javarris james 4 eva!

oh and as for your jams, love the marley and the nore as well as the cypress hill. the sherryl crow? hilarious. that was obvious justice for you making fun of andre the giants selection. so far that's the gayest jam we've had up here. congrats for that. i guess you make up for it with all the rap music. much love. thanks for sharing.

count on miller high life to rock my world with jams i've never heard of. he had to email all of them to me. haven't gotten much of chance to listen to these yet, but am certainly looking forward to having my horizons widened by our favorite hipster/lawyer/teacher. none hipper! seriously though, do you love this packers photo or what?! it's from the 1964 championship game, which was played in cleveland in january. no wonder they decided to play this game in warmer weather, though it would be cool to see a super bowl in the meadowlands (or anywhere cold) someday. also this was the first nfl title game (this was before the super bowl) to be televised by cbs. one love high life. hot or cold, it's pack weather.

a new sharing initiative...

this is a great idea from the player coach. we used to do this over email all the time. the idea is to take your music library and put it on shuffle. then take the first 5 songs you're given and share. easy right? i have to say i'm pretty excited with my five. obviously ring of fire is not the first thing i would want to share with you, but it's not terrible. love ween's country music. del's no need for alarm is one of the best rap album's ever. dizzee rascal is a fredeeky fave. also love the new tv on the radio.
